dr. jan onno reiners
Working out of Berlin since 2006.
Nine years of natural sciences.
Seven years of economy.
Nineteen years of change work.
These have been – so far – the diverse steps of my career.
And each of these steps adds something to my work with clients.
The scientist’s curiosity and astonishment. Not the formulas, though.
The strategic consultant’s vocabulary, leadership experience and altitude. Not the attitude, though.
The coach’s knowledge about human behaviour and change processes. Not too much psychology, though.
Change work:
Self-employed executive coach, trainer and organisational developer in Berlin, Germany.
The emphasis of my work is working on leadership with leaders, leadership teams, changing organisations, and educating young or prospective leaders.
Lecturer at the Hertie School of Governance, the Berlin School of Economics and Law, and ESMT in Berlin, Germany.
I completed a one-year, DBVC-certified coaching course (“systemic-interactive coach”) at artop GmbH, Institut an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and I frequently work as a teaching coach for aspiring coaches.
1998 – 2005
Economy:
Strategic management consultant at Boston Consulting Group (Hamburg, Germany).
Multiple years as a project leader with operative responsibility for teams and projects.
Extensive and varied consulting work for German (several DAX-listed companies) and international clients, on strategic and operative levels.
Long-time member of BCG’s recruiting core group, and internal trainer for new consultants.
Natural sciences::
Three years of research and dissertation (PhD) on chemiluminescent biosensors at the Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge (UK).
One year thesis (MPhil) in the field of biosensors at Queens’ College, University of Cambridge (UK).
